TMS’ response to SonikuUK’s email., No more Sonic X at the moment. Options

As many of you will be aware, SonikuUK sent an email to TMS asking about the “More than 78 eps” thing on their site and also about the whole Polish TV thing.

SonikuUK recently received a reply to his email but as the topic ep 79+ in Poland had been closed, he passed on the message by PM instead.

I have permission from SonikuUK to post the reply, so here we go:

Thank you for your e-mail below.

Please be advised that we have produced 78 episodes of Sonic X.
However, we do not have any immediate plan to produce episode #79 and over.
Therefore the episode 79 and over of Sonic X does not exist as of today.

With regard to "more than 78 episodes" at our site,
this is simply typo and we will fix it to "78 episodes" accordingly.

In addition, I checked Polish site below and, according to automatic
translation,
the story depicted here seems to be related to #53-78.

Therefore I assume the number "79" here is a typo also.

So there we go currently there are still only 78 episodes.

What is interesting is that they don’t say outright that there will be no more episodes. Though it seems unlikely for them to create any more episodes in the future after this amount of time, there are a couple of possibilities such as if the rights issues in Japan were resolved and they were finally able to air season 2. Of course even then, the episodes would have to be popular before TMS/Sega would consider making more.

But anyway, for now that’s it, 78 episodes.

I thought that this whole Poland thing was just a mistake, but it's good to hear an official email to confirm that there are currently no more episodes.

Im assuming Polsat were running 53-78 and somewhere along the line some one thought it went up to 80. I say that since TV guides were listing up to 80 and no further.

Now, did they update their X page to list 78eps?....er..no they havent ah well, prolly forgot to or something.

I figured as much; pretty much a "consider the source" type of thing and that TV listings don't know shows in depth most of the time and can't be counted on 100%; it was very smart to check in on TMS for information to get the full picture. Though given that a new X episode hasn't been released in roughly 3 years, I doubted the information. Not that care anymore, but just out of the attention the "79" thing got.

I´m impressed, this is a much better reply than I expected. Very rare to see well explained replies from companies. Kudos for TMS.

Then will happen as I always expected, they will do more only if the 26 remain episodes air in Japan and make sucess. Now what we can do is hope for that.

The funny thing, when all this 79+ story appeared, to confirm, I contacted the studio that dubbed Sonic X here and they said some new Sonic episodes arrived on the studio... but on the last Thursday, they confirmed to me was some episodes of AoStH - only 22 aired here. Specially when the fake pictures appeared I really believed, but more because of this dub, than the pics quality

Anyway, all that sites listing episodes 79 and 80 was really strange... if was only one, I wouldn´t believed on all that story... but on 5 different online guides, was preety weird.

Well it's nice to know TMS gave a straight answer and debunked the rumors that were flying around. More than likely it was just a simple mistake on Polsat's listings. But like Shakura said, they're not always 100% accurate considering it's not the first time I've seen a TV guide make a mistake.

Well, it's good that everything has been straightened out, but it's kind of sad that no episodes are currently being made. Like Doctor Sonic has said, there is a chance of more episodes, although it is not very likely.
