Fear Factor, I blame Buffy and Angel... Options

The idea for this RPG is different from the others. There are no Chao, no Emeralds, no Sonic and co, etcetera. There's just your characters and all kinds of supernatural stuff. Your character investigates all kinda of supernatural happenings from posessed puppets to daemons attacking certain areas of the city (kinda like a Devil May Cry/Buffy the Vampire Slayer mix). Hopefully, this RP won't be spammed to the point it has to be locked as I think this has potential. I'll also point out that this RPG is to be typed like a story and not a script. Post your character's profile first like the one shown below, then join in the RPG.

Description - Dark grey fur, wears black baggy pants, black T-shirt, black trenchcoat, heavy boots and black fingerless gloves

It was the normal kinda weather in the slum area of the city. Dark clouds hanging overhead, although they probably wern't as dark as they looked. It was nearly midnight after all. Only one thing other than the moon pours light into the desolate area. A large red neon sign above an office, reading "Fear Factor". Not much happened in that place, since there wasn't much demand for Supernatural Investigators. So far, there was only one worker there, and the same person was also the owner. A wolf, named Matt Cage. No-one really knew anything about him, but he was known to have great skill in vanquishing evil. He was a strange character. Evil if he <b>did</b> vanquish evil, why wasn't he more famous? Who knows? Or cares? For the first time in a while, a phone rang inside the building. Only it and the noise of rock music broke the silence.
Inside, Matt picked up the phone and answered in his deep coarse voice.
"Fear Factor, supernatural investigators for hire"
The voice on the other side was inaudible unless you had the reciever in your hand.
"Sorry, we're closed for mainenance"
Matt slammed the receiver back on the hook.
"Still not the kinda thing I'm looking for. I'll be surprised if this town has any real business"

Description:Tiger-like fur (orange with black stripes), wears a red sweater with a white stripe going down each sleeve(its big for her so her arms cant make it completely out of the sleeves), tight white shorts with two red stripes going down each pant leg, and underneath her sweater she wears a white shirt saying "I love Inuyasha"

Rain was heavilly pouring down upon a destroyed village showing a girl who was no older than 15 who was surrounded by three demons all holding rusted swords.
One of the demons started to attack the girl, but the girl slashed through the demons waist and instantly killed the demon. The other two demons also charged at the girl, but both were cut in half and killed like the first demon. The girl withdrawn her two Kunais and said
"heh...that was too easy"
Before we go any further I will tell you about the girl who had slain the three beasts. Her name is Shinryu Takema. Shinryu is one of the most skilled demon slayers in her village. Her village was destroyed by the demons that were realeased by a man named Guildenstern. The story will take it from here.

Matt walked over to the window and looked out. Rain lashed against the window, showing no signs of relenting.

"Storm's here it seems. Looks like nothing's gonna happen here anyway"

He stared at the telephone on his desk for a second.

"Might as well, I'm gonna be here for a while"

He picked up the phone and dailed a number. A few seconds more had passed, then Matt spoke to the receiver of the call.

"Hey, could I get a pepperoni pizza delivered to Fear Factor in the slum district? No, this isn't a prank call, I own the place. Just send ot over"

He smalled the reciver down again.

"Mental note: never to order from that place again"

Species: Hedgehog/Hylian Robot Hybrid
Weapons: Master Sword, in addition to Link’s full arsenal of weapons
Special Skills: Cyberlink is a powerful swordsman, and can best any challenger. He also has minions whom he sends to fight in his place if he is near collapse due to pain. Also, thanks to Gamma radiation, he has the ability to make giant cheeseblocks appear from nowhere and crush his enemies. Recently, he has been going through a secret training session to learn new skills such as the Chaos Fireball and the Tengu Blast.

The door to Matt's office slowly creeped open. Matt turned and stared. A shadowy figure slowly crept in. Without hesitation, Matt switched on the lights and shot a fire blast towards the intruder. Unfortunately, that figure was...

"AAAHHH!!! MY HAIR'S ON FIRE!" Cyberlink screamed, and he began to run around in a circle. "GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF!"

With an exasperated sigh, Matt took a nearby water bottle and splashed the water onto Cyberlink's head. The flames slowly disappeared in a puff of smoke. Cyberlink stopped running.

"Er...heh heh, my bad" Cyberlink said, slightly embarrased.

"Just don't sneak in like that again. I thought you were a phantom or something. Anyway, why are you here?" Matt asked impatiently.

"Well, I haven't been seeing much action lately. I mean, I've heped save every 4Kids-dubbed series from disaster, liberated imprisoned spirits trapped in the deepest chamber of a booby-trapped temple, even died, came back as a ghost and posessed the body of a crazed egomaniac all within a few hours (as seen in the fanfic "Video Game Evolution" written by Chrono Fantasy), but ever since then, I haven't seen any action at all. It's almost like there's no more problems anywhere..."

"There's always problems somewhere." Matt interrupted.

"Exactly. So I figured that if I worked here, it'd be more likely that I'd get a chance to kick some serious butt. So what do you say? I have quite an extensive knowledge of ghosts and spirits considering that I was one at one point..." Cyberlink pleaded.

"Okay fine. Whatever. Just don't get in the way..." Matt agreed, reluctantly.

"You got it!" Cyberlink replied. He then sat down in a chair in the corner, pulled out his GBA, and began to play The Simpsons: Road Rage. "GAAAH! CURSE YOU, MISSION #9! CURSE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Matt sighed and closed the front door.

"Y'know, you could've closed it when you came in, were you born in a barn?"

Cyberlink replied without looking up from his GBA.

"No, I was born in a freak accident which ended up with both Link and So-"

"Shut up, that was a rhetorical question" Matt interrupted again.

"Jeez, what's with you all of a sudden? Last time we met, you were all buddy-buddy, and now your at my throat? What gives?"

Matt walked back to the window, sighed and stared into the rain and darkness outside.

"I dunno ... I've just had certain ... urges since a few days ago. I just can't understand it. I think my 'other side' is starting to become restless"

"Other side?"

Matt sighed again and opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Who's that?" Cyberlink inquired.

"Pizza delivery, most likely. They may be crap but they're quick"

Speical Skills: Being a Techno Sorceror give Lord Fear power of Magic merged with Technology, he has powers of throwing fireballs and shooting bolts or lightning out of his eyes (know as Eye Bolts) and much more.
Appearance: Same coloured Crocodile as Vector except wearing and Red waist coat, a leather trench coat and glasses like Eggman but his eyes can be seen.

The door of Matt's office opens as Lord Fear walks in and closes with a wave of his hand.

"Good day to you my name is Lord Fear"

Lord Fear raises his hand in the air making a card appear in it.

"My calling card"

Matt takes the card and reads it.

"I can identfy the nearist monster, demon, undead or whatever it is from 30 feet away, I'm also the only Techno Sorceror around, because everyone else didn't want to get modern, unlike myself"

"You're hired" Matt said.

Lord Fear smiles and waves his hand making a cup appear filled with Dark Coffee and drinks it.

Cyberlink yawned. In the time between when he had shown up and now, he had beaten all 10 missions, delivered 18 passengers in Road Rage mode, pleased 8 passengers in Performance mode, gotten the necessary $1,000,000 to win the game, cusomized all of the cars with a sleek black paintjob, played Sunday Drive mode 15 times, eaten 5 slices of pizza, discovered a cure for the common cold, drawn 6 new comics, and was currently hooking up his GameCube to a widescreen TV he found in his pocket.

"Anyone here wanna take me on in SSBM? I'm desperate for something to do..." Cyberlink asked.

Unfortunately for him, Matt was staring out the window and didn't respond, and LordFear was sleeping on the couch.

"I'll take that as a no..."

Thoughts haunted Matt as he stood at the window. He couldn't shake them. It was like a bad dream.

"Why did this happen? Why are these urges more powerful than usual?" Matt thought to himself.

He stared at his paw, then felt a sharp pain in his chest.

"Agh!"

Matt buckled over in pain. Cyberlink was first on the scene.

"Matt! You OK?"

The pain had disappeared as quick as it had disappeared. Matt was breathing heavily but still able to answer.

"Yeah ... I dunno what happened"

"I think you should take things easy. Take a break"

"Y-yeah, I think I might"

Cyberlink made his way back to the Gamecube in the corner. Matt, however, was still thinking. Something had happened, but what? Nothing could prepare him for what he saw. His right paw, which he had near his chest when the pain started, had grown larger. Larger than normal. He immediately hid it under his trenchcoat, hoping no-one saw it, but with buddies like Cyberlink and LordFear, you never know.

((OOC - It.s up to you if your character knows this. Matt is slowly transforming into a complete werewolf. The right part of this pic shows what he'd look like, except with almost black fur))

LordFear wakes up from his nap and gets a magazine out on how to identfy transforming people i.e. people who turn into werewolf.

"First they start to grow bigger and grow more angry, that can't be right, I'll have to stick to my own senses, Drinks anyone?" asked LordFear

After getting a glass of lemonade from LordFear, Cyberlink resumed playing his GameCube. But after beginning to play Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (in which he had reached the final stage) and seeing Professor Lupin's transformation, thoughts began to pass through his mind. The moodiness, the outbursts, the sudden pain in the chest...could Matt be becoming a werewolf?

Cyberlink laughed and quickly dismissed the idea. Matt, a werewolf? Highly unlikely. Sure, there would be the occasional period in which his body would be inhabited by Cyris, but that was rare and hadn't happened in quite some time now. It was probably just something he ate.

However, Cyberlink still thought that this theory was very possible nonetheless. After thinking about different ways to test the idea, he remembered that werewolves transform in the light of a full moon. However, would this work on Matt? There was only one way to find out...

So Cyberlink inserted Road Rage into the Game Boy Player and turned it on, choosing to do Mission #6. Above the sleeping Homer Simpson and the somewhat moody Moe Szyslak, a full moon shone down on Springfield.

Cyberlink thought to himself, "It may have a face on it, but it's still a full moon. So if Matt is becoming a werewolf...then this will be the first time that a licensced game has ever actually been worth something."

Cyberlink chuckled to himself about the thought, but then resumed his serious state. This was no time to crack jokes. It was time to go to work...

Matt refused LordFear's offer and stood at the window. Thoughts were drowning his mind.

"What's going on?" he thought. "It can't by Cyris, can it? I had him sent to the Ethereal Plane, he can't come back without help from someone alive. Normally, I can control my trasformation but why not now? Something must be wrong ... I don't need to think about this anymore, just stop thinking!!"

Matt made his way over to his desk and sat with his feet propped up on top of it. He saw Cyberlink's game on the TV and watched as the character transformed into a werewolf. He shook his head violently as if trying to shake the image out of his head. He looked again and noticed the game had been changed. He was releived, until he saw a full moon. He shook his head more violently this time. The telephone interrupted him and he picked it up, still hiding his over-sized paw.

"Fear Factor, supernatural investigators for hire ... yeah ... OK, that's great. Where's the place? ... We'll be right there"

He slammed down the receiver (yet again) and grabbed his sword, holster and guns.

"OK, guys, we got business. We got a case of the undead not staying dead in a graveyard to the west. You guys up for it?"

[LordF]

"I'll get my coat" said Lord Fear.

Lord Fear then looks at what he's got on his back and slaps himself on his head.

"I never took it off" said Lord Fear.

[CyberLink]

"Let's go." Cyberlink said and grabbed his sword. As they began to head out, he thought to himself, "Seeing the full moon made him shake. He must be becoming a werewolf...or has a strong fear of shiny round objects. Yeah, it's gotta be the first one. But maybe this could be used to our advantage..."

Before he left the room, Cyberlink took a photo of the tv screen. "Now we have a portable full moon for whenever we may need the brute strength of a werewolf to get the job done."

Smiling, Cyberlink caught up with the other two and headed towards the graveyard.

"Whatever, Cyberlink. Whatever. It won't help us at all so I don't see the point of taking it with us"

Matt laughed, but it was a false laugh.

He saw me!? Damn, he must be thinking the same thing I am.

[LordF]

If he's becoming a werewolf then I'll need to have a werewolfs weakness on me thought Lord Fear.

Lord Fear look into his trench coats pocket a pulled out a Giant Mallet, a Sonic Screwdriver, some keys and some gold and silver pieces.

Perfect said Lord Fear as he eyed the silver pieces.

"Hey! You guys gonna hurry up or what?" Shouted Matt.

He was already outside and standing at his car. A black Nissan Skyline GTR, almost invisible due to the time of day and the weather.

"Hey, how can you afford THAT if you don't get much work?" inquired LordFear

Matt grinned, unlocked the car and said "I set some cash aside."

He got in and started the engine. He was about to put both paws on the steering wheel but stopped. He crammed his right paw into his pocket and decided to drive with his left paw. Thankfully, the car had an automatic gearbox. He waited for the others to get in and drove off into the wet, dark night.

While riding, the three were discussing what what keeping these corpses from staying below ground.

"I say that it's some sort of sorceror using dark magic to revive them and command them to do his bidding." LordFear suggested

"I think that they all want revenge for something that happened to them while they were alive." Cyberlink speculated

"Whatever it is, I'm sure we're about to find out..." Matt whispered quietly.

The trio soon reached the graveyard. Even before they had entered, they could see zombies stomping around seeking flesh to dine upon.

"Eesh. They look like Shadow Zero early in the morning." Cyberlink commented. He looked down. "Hey! It's someone's pet gerbil! Hey there little guy! Are you..."

Unfortunately, this gerbil was also one of the zombies and took this opportunity to lunge at Cyberlink.

"AAAAAAAAAAHH! IT'S GOT MY NOSE! GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF!! GEEEEEEEET IIIIIIIIIIT OOOOOOOOOOOOOFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Cyberlink screamed.

Matt and Lord fear shook their heads in disgust.

Matt drew his pistol and shot it clean off. The corpse landed on the ground and laid still.

"Sever the connection between the brain and the body, then they'll stay dead" he said.

Cyberlink and LordFear were staring at the gun, or rather, the paw holding the gun. Matt folowed their gaze, then dropped his gun. The bullet that hit the zombie was no normal bullet, it was powered up by something. The paw was no normal paw either. It was Matt's right paw, the paw which had transformed and become stuck in that form.

"Aw crap!!" Matt shouted.

"I was right, you ARE transforming" came Cyberlink's voice.

"Then there's only one thing left to do" said LordFear, with a hint of sorrow in his voice. "I'm sorry it had to come to this, but it's for our protection"

Lord Fear pulled out a large, sharp silver object.

"W-Wait! I-It's not what you think!!"

LordFear prepared to drive the object into Matt's heart, but Cyberlink stopped him.

"Hold it!! This could be used to our advantage. Matt seems to be being forced to transform by something. While he's a werewolf, he'll have superhuman strength. He could maul anything we find"

"But there's one problem" interrupted Matt.

"And that is?" inquired Cyberlink.

"I won't be able to shift back like normal. Normally, I can control my transformations, but this one's fueled by something I don't understand. We're gonna have to figure out what, but jobs come first"

Matt jerked his head towards the Undead in the graveyard. LordFear hesitated for a moment, then replaced the silver object back in his coat.

"Fine ... but if it looks like you're gonna try and hurt as just a tiny bit, I'll kill you"

Matt glared as LordFear before walking away.

"Fine" he said, before drawing his guns to make the Unded wish they were dead.

[LordF]

Lord Fear gets a Mallet out of his pocket and smirks.

"What's that puny thing going to do?" asked Cyberlink trying not to laugh

"This" said Lord Fear as he pressed a button on the mallet making it grow 10 Times it's orignal size.

"Well?" asked Lord Fear.

"Undead behind you" said Cyberlink gesturing to the walking skeleton walking up to Lord Fear.

"FORE" yelled Lord Fear as he whacked the Skull off the Skeleton smashing it to pieces on impacted.

Weapons - A big stick with a glove on the end, for poking people.
Description - Green fox, with brown eyes, two tails, grey t-shirt, dark green combat trousers, black trainers with two small blue stripes.

There was a rustle in the tree above Lordfear. He looked up, hammer in hand. A creature moved, and Lordfear pulled his hammer back ready to swing. Suddenly, a green fox jumped down and ran at Lordfear screaming. Lordfear jumped back, and swung his hammer towards the fox.

Behind him, he heard voices shouting, "NO WAIT! STOP!"

The hammer connected with the creatures head, which promptly got knocked off, and rolled across the ground.

There we shocks of horror from behind him. Then someone walked up to him.

"L.....l.....lordfear......"

Lordfear turned around to see a familiar face.

"Zombie or not, that was my uncle!" shouted Jezmm pointing at him.

Jezmm walked over to the dead zombie on the floor. "That wasn't nice of him was it?" The beheaded zombie's hand shot out and grabbed Jezmm's leg. "AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!! Niether is that!"

Jezmm ran about with the zombie trailing behind. Running Wolf shook his head is disgust. "Never mind him guys, it's just the nerves in the corpse acting up. When you're done fooling around Jez, you can help us out!" Running Wolf threw a pistol over to Jezmm.

"Ok!" shouted Jezmm, trying to scrape off the zombie on the wall, before being hit in the face by the pistol, and falling in a bush.

[CyberLink]

"Geez, and I thought I was uncoordinated" Cyberlink muttered. He sliced off the head of another zombie. "Is t just me, or is this starting to turn out like a Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror special?"

Suddenly, Ralph Wiggum ran straight through the cemetary with the ghost of Wigglepuppy chasing after him.

Cyberlink froze in his tracks. His eyes widened. "I didn't just see that, I didn't just see that, I didn't just see that..."

[Nalerenn]

Matt shook his head in disgust again.

"If you want a job done right..."

He held out his other pistol and shot the zombie clinging onto Jezmm.

"... You'd better do it yourself"

He holstered the pistol and looked deeper into the graveyard. The Undead were nothing but a swarm ... and they were heading in their direction. Even with their current firepower, they couldn't take all of them down. Unless...

Should I? But what are the risks? What would happen? What if ... Is it even worth it? But I might ...

"Matt, we got a problem!" Shouted Cyberlink, seeing the oncoming mass of zombies.

"I think if I transform, we could defeat them -" replied Matt

"Then what are you waiting for!?"

"But like I said earlier, I'd be trapped in Werewolf form"

"Oh yeah ... forgot about that"

LordFear ran up to the first of the zombies and started whacking them with his hammer, but all he could do was stall them.

"Matt?" came Jezmm's voice, a sound of Innocence in a sea of Evil. "What's going on? Are we gonna die?"

That was the motivation he needed. He turned his head to face Jezmm, smiled for the first time in a long while and said "No ... not if I can help it."

Matt threw his other pistol to Jezmm along with the holster. He let his sword fall to the ground at his feet. He turned to Cyberlink first.

"Hope you've got a translation device in that metallic half of you, we'll need it"

"Huh? Why?" Inquired Cyberlink, but Matt was focussing on something else.

He clenched his fists and closed his eyes. He knelt down on the ground and placed one paw on the ground. Bolts of red lightning appeared from the ground and struck Matt, but he didn't show pain. His muscles started to bulge and he seemed to be growing larger. His fur grew darker until it almost blended in with the shadows. His clothes ripped as his body size increased drastically. A few seconds later, Matt was a 10-foot tall hulking beast.

"Leakieseo'de unadrasubree" came it's deep, almost evil, voice before it leapt into the oncoming mass of the Undead.

Lord Fear ajust his glasses abit.

"What was the in english?" asked Lord Fear straching his head and whacking some zombies with his Giant Mallet.

((OOC - Gah! I forgot to point out that since I'm in Werewolf form, I can only speak Beast Tounge, or Lucian as my girlfriend calls it.))

[CyberLink]

"Don't know...don't care...RUN!" Cyberlink gasped. The three scrambled into a tree, then sat and watched WereMatt tear the zombies limb from limb. Of course, most of their limbs had been missing in the first place, but it didn't make the scene appear any less brutal.

Cyberlink thought to himself, "So he's finally transformed. But there are so many questions that still remain unanswered...

"Guys? Don't you find this sort of curious?" Cyberlink asked his pals.

"What are you talking about?" Jezmm inquired.

"Well let's review the facts:
Fact 1, Matt just turned into a werewolf for the first time. If he's part werewolf, why has this never happened before? Fact 2, he sid he can't control the transformation. How will we change him back? And Fact 3, there appear to be enough zombies to overpower us, but few enough that WereMatt can rip them to pieces easily. Could this all have been some intimate trap to get Matt to turn into a werewolf?"

"Maybe you're right. Maybe some kind of dark energy fuels Matt's tranformation. As long as that energy's there, Matt will probably become more and more werewolf-like." Jezmm suggested.

"Yeah. Maybe the person who brought the zombies back is releasing this energy because he has some sort of grudge against Matt." LordFear added.

Cyberlink pointed out, "But we don't know anyone who could hold that kind of grudge. Eggman's a moron, Ariatsu hasn't been seen in some time now, and Aliendronewouldn't go through all this trouble. So who's left to..."

A sudden foreboding feeling swept over them. Each one glanced at eachother, all thinking the same thing. In a hushed whisper, each muttered the same name...

"Cyris."
